These ranges are realistic estimates based on typical outcomes. Your starting score, which path you're on, and how consistently you apply each stage all affect your actual results.
Your first new trade line. No credit history needed — your deposit is your limit. Available during a proposal (with LIT approval), immediately after discharge, or after settlement.
+0 to +20 ptsUse the card lightly (under 30% of the limit) and pay in full every month. This is where first real score movement happens.
+20 to +60 ptsA credit-builder loan or authorized user placement diversifies your credit mix and adds a second source of positive history. Often the highest-gain stage.
+30 to +80 ptsOne in five reports has an error. Removing a single wrong late payment can add 50–100 points — often the single largest single-event score gain available.
+0 to +100 ptsMost Canadians become eligible for basic unsecured credit cards and start to see meaningfully better auto financing rates in this range.
600+ scoreB-lender mortgage conversations open, better auto rates, and most mainstream personal loan products become available in this range.
650–680 scoreThe notation eventually drops off your report entirely (per your relief path's timeline), and several years of clean history positions you for prime or near-prime rates.
